BIG CHANGE IN PLATE PICTURE

A fracture in the left leg of BUFFALO MAN during a Sunday workout has altered the Queen's Plate picture dramatically, 4 months before the Canadian classic.
Plate nominees and the winterbook odds will be released in 2 weeks but you can check on Plate info and the Top 10 prospects by going to Woodbine's Plate Micro-site (see link in post from yesterday). This link will be made available on the right side of my blog page shortly.

W.E.G. RESPONDS ANOTHER HERPES OUTBREAK
Woodbine Entertainment will not allow horses from Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland and Delaware on the backstretch until more is know about the possible Equine Herpes outbreak in those States. Several trainers from Ontario, including Les Frost and Don MacRae, are at those tracks.
Not related... but 3 days of training on Polytrack at Woodbine are completed and the number of workers has been light. Still 33 days until opening day.

KEMPLEN REPORTED TO BE HUSBANDS' AGENT

BAM!

Canadian-bred SLAM BAMMY could be headed to Dubai for a start in the Sprint race there on Mar. 31 (World Cup day) if the gelding fares well in the Richter Scale Stakes at Gulfstream on Saturday.

DUBAI RACES THURSDAY

It appears as if unbeaten DISCREET CAT, who has beaten Horse of the Year INVASOR and is certainly one of the most exciting horses to be seen in North America in recent years, will start in a $200,000 race in Dubai on Thursday to prep for the Mar. 31 World Cup. The card on Thursday (which can be seen on HPI TV and wagering in available) is jam-packed with beautifully bred and exciting prospects.
