FALL BACK!!

Whew, another hour of sleep tonight...first, there is the matter of the ONTARIO FASHION STAKES featuring lots of good fillies and mares, up and comers, old-timers etc.
This morning, we pay tribute to our friend Ted Lebanowich in a memorial service at Woodbine on the backstretch. All horsepeople are invited.
Some brief news today, more later..

FRIDAY WOODBINE

Some horsepeople say Polytrack very hard...weather related?

Speed bias big-time!

MINER’S CLAIM, a 2yo colt by Mineshaft, remained undefeated with a win in the Display prep and he set a track record for 1 mile and 70 yards in the process. His time was 1:41.76

The race was run in ugly fashion as several were hung out very wide all the way, including the winner, and it seemingly was not as fast a race as the timer would lead to believe (and the track has been ultra fast in recent days).

JACKIE WYATT won her first race as a jockey yesterday when she partnered RENGA’S GIRL to a front running score in the 3rd race for 3yos and up, fillies and mares at 1 1/16 miles. It was the first route test for the filly who is owned by Gerry Rizzardo and Dan Vella.

Wyatt allowed Renga’s Girl to go to a clear lead and while drifting out through the stretch, the filly staved off challengers.

You had to be close yesterday as the fast surface led to some easy rides on the pace for horses who didn't mind the way it was playing. Send to the lead and you had a good chance to win.
